Oasis Christmas Party

We were delighted to be invited again to share our Christmas Party with our friends in the Oasis Group. The Oasis group went to so much work to give us to a wonderful choice of goodies to eat as well as a lovely party bag to take away. The Oasis members were so pleased to see our children and we had several compliments on their behaviour and manners!

”Its so lovely to see the wee ones”, β€œI dont have any grandchildren and I miss not seeing children playing”, β€œwhat a lovely smile – you can’t help but smile back”, β€œ Lovely children”, β€œReally cheered our day”

Our children tell us they had a great time : β€œI want to have another party”, β€œI did play with all the friends”, β€œthe lady did help me”, β€œwe got bags and I blowed the noise”, β€œthere was a green monster there” (πŸ€”)

Parents’ Information Session

Thanks to everyone who came along to our session yesterday afternoon to catch up on our progress in our move to the woods.

We understand that this is a very busy time of year so please be assured that we intend to have more of these events to help everyone keep everyone up to date. But also, there is no obligation to come along if you have other commitments. If you have questions at any time please just speak with a member of staff.

An Unusual Visitor to Nursery

We had an unusual visitor to nursery this week when Jordan spotted a frog on the path!

We wondered where the frog had come from and where it was going when we don’t have a pond or any water close by.

The children stayed very quiet so as not to scare the frog and when they listened carefully they could hear the frog saying β€œribbitt, ribbitt”. Some of the children were able to copy the sound the frog made.

The frog was very slippery and was trying to squeeze out of Jane’s hands. The children agreed that the frog might be a bit scared of all of us because we were so much bigger than it so we decided we should put it somewhere safe. We decided not to put it back on the path because someone might stand on it and β€œsquash it flat”. The children decided to put the frog in our bug hotel and let it decide where it wanted to go. We sat the frog down and watched it hop away into the hotel.

”It jumped really high!”

November Stay and Play

Thank you to everyone who attended today’s stay and play session. It was lovely to spend the morning with you all. We hope you all enjoyed your visit as much as we did.

If you missed today or, indeed, if you want to come back for more, our next session is scheduled for Wednesday 12th March 2025.

Rope Play

We have been busy in the woods marking out a boundary on our woodland site and learning how far we can roam when we are playing. Over recent weeks our children have all been very engaged in tying knots with rope and last week with wool in our spider web. This week they practised enthusiastically with a new material, boundary tape.
