An Unusual Visitor to Nursery

We had an unusual visitor to nursery this week when Jordan spotted a frog on the path!

We wondered where the frog had come from and where it was going when we don’t have a pond or any water close by.

The children stayed very quiet so as not to scare the frog and when they listened carefully they could hear the frog saying “ribbitt, ribbitt”. Some of the children were able to copy the sound the frog made.

The frog was very slippery and was trying to squeeze out of Jane’s hands. The children agreed that the frog might be a bit scared of all of us because we were so much bigger than it so we decided we should put it somewhere safe. We decided not to put it back on the path because someone might stand on it and “squash it flat”. The children decided to put the frog in our bug hotel and let it decide where it wanted to go. We sat the frog down and watched it hop away into the hotel.

”It jumped really high!”
